Money or Family, Treachery or Honor

Elizabeth Camden's "A Dangerous Legacy" is a phenomenal, historic romance centered around rival news agencies, Associated Press and Reuters, and rival employees Lucy Drake and Sir Colin Beckwith. Lucy Drake is a telegraph operator who is a whiz at Morse code. That's her day job. On the side, Lucy and her brother, Nick, are fighting their uncle over the rightful owner of a plumbing valve their grandfather invented to allow water to be piped at the correct pressure. While listening on a secret line, Lucy intercepts a message in Morse Code of a possible murder on the US President and isn't sure of what to do until she explains it to Colin. Together they plot a scheme that turns more treacherous then either of them could have realized. Enough twist and turns to keep the reader on edge with a great cast of characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House and was under no obligation to post a review.
