Amish Millionaire

Excited to read this new novel from Wanda E. Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter to learn what has happened in the lives of Barbara, Sadie, Mandy and Ellen since the trip to Hawaii. Three of the four Amish women have married leaving Sadie to wonder if her boyfriend, Wyman, will ever stop job hopping and eventually ask her to be his wife. In the meantime, Sadie is busy working on a new quilt blending Amish and Hawaiian traditions. When one of her friends suggests she write a book about quilts she begins to brainstorm on how she could afford to do such a big project Then her family receives a call that Sadie's mother's sister has been in an accident. Upon her death the family discovers Sadie is the main beneficiary of her aunt's will. Is this the answer to Sadie's prayer on affording the book project? Or does it create more of a divide between Sadie and her family and Wyman? How does an Amish woman remain true to her faith? So glad that the authors decided to do a sequel but the reader can read this book as a stand alone if missed reading the first book. Conspiracy Intrigue

The suspense and drama continue in Andrew Huff's newest novel, "Cross Shadow." Reporter Christine Lewis is asked to check into the arrest of her stepbrother in Texas for murder but to her surprise and indignation John Cross has followed her to Dallas. What follows is a cat and mouse game to find out why Christine's stepbrother is being framed for murder while being shot at and chased. Not only does this story explore more of the relationship between Christine and John; it explores John's life as a pastor and a former CIA agent and his relationship with God. Can he live with a foot in both worlds? How can he reconcile lying to find the truth? This is a fast paced read with endearing characters. I am secretly rooting for Christine and John to discover how to make their relationship work as the reader is left wondering at the end of the book. So I am anxiously looking forward to the third installment. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Audra Jennings PR and was under no obligation to post a review. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Amish Mystery

Wanda E. Brunstetter brings readers an Amish mystery called "The Crow's Call." Set in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, we are reunited with the King family under tragic circumstances. Vernon King, his son Abe, and son-in-law Toby are tragically killed in a buggy accident leaving the remaining family members struggling to deal with the loss and run the family greenhouse business. Ezekiel King and his wife, Michelle, offer to return to Pennsylvania from their new home in New York but his mother declines. Belinda King believes she can make a go of it with the help of her daughters, Amy and Sylvia, and her youngest son Henry. As each member struggles with their grief, mysterious events begin to occur in the greenhouse making Belinda's job much harder. But who could be doing the vandalism? Henry? Neighborhood kids? The new garden center owner? And why does Belinda's boyfriend from her youth show up unexpectedly? This book has a lot going on with the characters and tries to tell the story from several of the characters perspectives. Wonder what will happen in the second book in this series! Stay tuned! Immortal

An organism that does not age biologically is called immortal. Zac Wilson, the main character in Amanda Stevens book From Sky to Sky, is immortal. He has not aged since the day he was given a serum. His current day occupation is that of a daredevil since injuries do not kill him. But he is not alone. He belongs to a close knit group of three others who are immortal only to discover there are several others as well. Four of them have recently died. Murder? Suicide? And who murdered them? Why? Zac tries to find the answers while coming face to face with God who he abandoned when his mortal family died. The plot of this book produce an interesting dilemma of living forever, never dying, and our relationship with God. This is the second book in the series and would recommend reading the first book before hand. Otherwise, it takes a few chapters to get into the book to understand what is happening. Best Medicine: Laughter

Laughter can strengthen the immune system and decrease stress hormones. No prescription needed, just some good old belly laughs! Reading She Laughs: Choosing Faith Over Fear, produces those belly laughs. Carolanne Miljavac's latest novel reads like two friends visiting each other over a cup of tea sharing their lives - the good, the bad, and the ugly - all with laughter! Each chapter focuses on a fear that one can experience in life and then how laughter can help you through that experience, that moment. I so can relate to some of the experiences that Miljavac writes about in her book, particularly the bathroom experience. My heart resonated with the statement Miljavac writes "it takes so much more strength to live each day with a humble heart than to bulldoze through life driven by pride (p.100)." So true. Start the new year, the new month, a new week by reading She laughs. Your stress hormones will be oh so thankful for the vacation!
