God's Dream for You

Tiffany Smiling is the author of "Your Dream, God's Plan." For a young author, the topic she covers is full of wisdom and insight. As a tween, a spot is identified on her brain and begins leaking. So the family had to find a pediatric neurosurgeon willing to do the surgery. After the surgery, Tiffany is sent home to begin chemotherapy. While preparing to begin this therapy another doctor suggests Tiffany and her parents visit St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. By age fourteen, Tiffany would have her third surgery to remove the tumor on her brain. Thinking the tumor had been removed once and for all, Tiffany continues on as any teenager going shopping, attending events at school, and planning her life. Then Tiffany suffers a siezure at age 16. The tumor is back. Her doctor informs her and her family this is the last time he can operate for safety reasons. The surgery leaves her with paralysis on the left side. Tiffany had many plans, she was following the American dream when those dreams came to an abrupt stop. Then she begins to feel that God's plan for her life was not the plan Tiffany thought was her life plan. Tiffany writes, "God's dream isn't the same as the American dream" (p.74).
