That to hear God we need to get rid of our busyness and all the noise in our lives, to just be. Batterson mentions that silence is proactive listening. He goes on to describe his seven love languages: scripture, desires, doors, dreams, people, promptings, and pain. A phenonmenal, life-changing book. Quit focusing on the things of the world, and instead, focus on what matters most God is love. You won't be disappointed with this easy to understand book. Life's True Mission

Being overwhelmed appears to be a normal, daily thing for me as a wife, a mother, and a career woman. When someone asks, “Are you feeling overwhelmed?” The answer is a resounding “Yes!” Isn’t that just life? Well, Hayley DiMarco in “A Woman Overwhelmed” takes you from being overwhelmed with life to being overwhelmed by God’s love. Hayley bares her soul as she writes this book. It feels as though she is sitting next me, conversing these stories and thoughts. Each short chapter contains a personal story from Hayley’s life and a “thoughts to ponder” section. In the final pages, Hayley writes “If you are tired of being overwhelmed by life, then choose to make the mission of God your number one focus (p.189).” As simple as that. Take my focus off the world and focus on God! I highly encourage every woman out there to read this book even with a busy schedule, five minutes a day will make all the difference. Three Stories, Three Generations

“The Beloved Christmas Quilt” includes three novellas by three different authors within the Brunstetter family. Just as the Christmas Quilt is passed on through three generations from mother to daughter so to in the Brunstetter family as grandmother, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter each write one of the stories. In the first story, Luella is caring for her friend, Dena, who is having health issues. As Dena’s health deteriorates, she gives her Christmas Quilt to Luella telling her someday she can pass it on to her eldest daughter. Thus, begins the legacy of the Christmas Quilt. These are sweet, charming Amish stories shedding light on each woman’s reliance on God and faith. Wonderful reads as the Christmas season approaches. Grace, Hope, and Mercy

The third Flanagan sister, Mercy, is all grown-up in this third book of the"Heart of the Frontier" series "Cherished Mercy." Mercy was twelve in the first book and survived the Whitman Massacre. Now a decade or so later, Mercy is being asked by the Eletta Browning, a family friend, to come help her with her difficult pregnancy at the Indian mission where she lives with her husband and adopted daughter, Faith. Even with skirmishes between the Indians and the whites, Mercy agrees to go and help Eletta. Mercy enjoys teaching the Indian children and becoming friends with the Indian women and adores little Faith. However, Adam Browning, Eletta's brother-in-law, is not so friendly. Mercy's faith in God is tested to the limit when tensions increase along the Rogue River leaving Eletta's husband dead. She also learns there is a different side to Adam. A gripping, historical novel by Tracie Peterson. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
