Boldness of Faith
Tracie Peterson's "Beloved Hope" focuses on the character Hope Flanagan who survived the Whitman Mission massacre. She suffered more than her other sisters and throughout the story the reader will get a feel of how rape truamatizes a person. She has built a wall around her to help her survive but she doesn't understand how some of the other women who suffered the same fate and survived have gone on with their lives. Hope lives in fear. She is afraid of life. Then an Army lieutenant, Lance Kenner, asks to be her friend, to enter her reclusive world after finding her in the jail ready to kill the Cayuse Indian responsible for many of the killed and raped at the Mission.
Can Hope find healing or will the fear and hate eat her alive? Can she trust in God again? Can she trust a man in her life? Read to find out how Hope handles these decisions. I received this book from BethanyHouse Publishers to read and give my honest opinion.
Climatic Conclusion
The climatic conclusion to Cindy Woodsmall's The Amish of Summer Grove series is here. Gathering the Threads ties all the loose ends of the lives of Brenneman family. Ariana has returned to her Amish family from staying in the Englisch world with her Englisch family. But reconciling all that has happened and preparing to marry Rudy sends her head spinning. She is questioning all that she has been taught. On the other hand, Skylar finally feels she belongs and feels threatened by the arrival of Ariana. The two must find how they fit into the Brenneman family and their identity in the Heavenly Father. Woodsmall did not disappoint with this fianl book which seemed like forever to arrive. Great piece of fiction; great characters; great storyline; didn't want to say good-bye to them.

Moment of Truth
On the-edge-of-your-seat suspence thriller sums up "Dark Deception." Nancy Mehl's newest book in her Defenders of Justice series. Kate O'Brien is in the witness protection program after being attacked and left for dead. Her twin sister was also attacked and murdered. Now she must go back to testify again since the man imprisoned claims he did not commit the crime and deputy marshal Tony DeLuca is sent to pick her up. But things go wrong once he gets to Shelter Cove. Kate is kidnapped. The race is on for Tony to find Kate before she is killed. Just when you think you have the plot figured out there is another twist in the story. Action packed with drama and suspence. Even the ending is a cliff-hanger. Don't miss reading this book!

A Tapestry of Faith
Families are a tapestry: the weaving of the good and the bad together. The Talbot family has passed on a legacy that could become unraveled when an unsolved murder occurs during a family reunion at the Talbot estate that traumatizes a young Nicole Talbot's life. The third book in a series, "My Daughter's Legacy," by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould, picks up the threads of Nicole's life after being clean for a year from substance abuse and making it through her first year at college. She has decided to be an intern at an equestrian therapy center while living with her sister and putting the pieces of that fateful summer back together by revealing a secret she has kept since that fateful day. As the family reunion approaches her aunt shows Nicole and her sister family pictures from the Civil War while relating a story of a missing illuminted manuscript. The story then jumps back to the Civil War period as we, the readers, learn about life for Theresa Jennings in Richmond as a governess and a nurse tending wounded soldiers. Theresa tries to live to the ideals her father taught her as her heart is torn between loving a childhood friend or his cousin. It is easy to get caught up in this story as if offers a little mystery, romance, history and faith.

Truth Trumps
Shelley Shepard Gray has written another engaging book in the "Amish of Hart County" series entitled His Guilt. Mark Fisher does not come from your typical Amish family. Instead, he experiences neglect from his parents, witnesses his parent's alcohol abuse and suffers abuse from his father. He grows up trying to protect his younger brother, Calvin, but eventually Calvin moves away. Mark also moved away after being blamed for assulting a young woman but has returned to his old home and begun working for Mr. Lehmann at his gardening store. Waneta Cain is not sure about working with Mark at the store; his presence makes her uneasy. Time takes it course as a friendship develops between Mark and Waneta. That is until another woman is assulted, then all eyes in the community look at Mark. Now Waneta is not sure about her friendship with Mark. Who is the attacker? Is it Mark or his brother, Calvin? Will Waneta remain true to God and be a friend to Mark? You will need to read the book to discover the climatic ending to this book!
